I want to talk to you about being creative and saving money! I have invested a lot of money as a wedding photographer trying to buy all the perfect products to ensure that I can make the most beautiful detail shots for my brides. There are lots of great companies that do this, but after awhile, I found that it was very expensive so I decided to figure some things out!
I did some research on how to make some pretty inexpensive design boards. I love to use them for ring shots, shoe shots and I even incorporate the dress on these boards. Surrounded by beautiful florals it is a sure win.
One of my favorite hand made boards is using a canvas board, and then using some plaster to give the board some pretty texture. I like to emulate a stucco feel so I use a trowel to bring about a pretty design. Once it is all dry, (overnight) I then use some paints to give it some color. I like a soft muted color so I sometimes have to mix paints to arrive at the perfect tone. And brides, you certainly can do this for your own wedding day!
Go ahead and make some pretty!!
