As a mother and a wedding photographer, I have lots of advice on what to look for in a wedding gown. About a year ago, my daughter got married and we went dress shopping. It was that time in life that you wait for this very moment to happen! My daughter has really good taste and I knew that she would make the most beautiful choice when picking out her gown.
We headed into New York city where Kaitlin had heard of a really unique and small store. She also knew that the dress she had her eye on was carried at this particular store. She had her heart set on a gown designed by Sara Seven and it was absolutely the perfect dress for her. Upon arriving, they told us that they did not have that dress in the store anymore. We were so disappointed seeing Kaitlin came up from North Carolina dress shopping.
After several dresses were brought out to her, she still had her heart set on the Sarah Seven gown. None of the other ones fit her quite right or was her style. We were just about ready to leave when the woman realized that they did have a sample gown of the one she wanted. When they brought it to her it was magical! She slipped that dress on and we knew in that moment that it was the right one indeed! We placed the order and it was shipped to her in NC where all of the alterations were done.
So my advice is to know what your style is, look at lots of lots of gowns and when the right one hits you, go on the hunt! What is truly meant to be will be yours! It is the one dress in your lifetime that has to be perfect! Happy shopping!
