Brooke & Gerald originally met in an organic setting (at a fitness class), but they started dating much later with the help of a dating app. Their destination wedding in Colorado was smaller in size (about 20 guests total), and the location was about as unique as I’ve seen: they married at their very modern, architecturally-grand vacation rental home.
Family & friends stayed at the modern rental home for what Brooke described as a “family vacation with a little wedding on the side.” This is exactly how the wedding afternoon felt. All of the guests gathered in a small room with floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Brooke’s children each recited a reading during the ceremony, and as everybody stood closely watching, Brooke & Gerald sealed their vows with a sweet kiss!
After the ceremony and a few more formal images, casual apps and dinner were served by a local catering company. The afternoon consisted of friends & family mingling, casually eating all over the living space: around the large, custom, wood dining table, cuddled on the oversized couches and on the kitchen island. It was a wonderfully relaxed, comfortable kind of reception.
They chose an intimate wedding in the mountains simply because a large wedding didn’t suit their desires. They had visited Colorado in the past and really enjoyed it every time. They also steered away from the typical, rustic, lodge-like mountain home and instead focused on a more modern and bright approach to the mountains. As they said, it was done “our way.”
